Who We Are
Richmond AC Repair is an independent residential HVAC repair service covering the City of Richmond and the three counties that wrap around it - Henrico, Chesterfield, and Hanover. The work is repair first: central air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits that have stopped cooling, stopped heating, or started doing something expensive-sounding. Furnace and heating repair carry the same territory through the winter.
How the Service Model Works

The technician diagnoses the system at your house, and you get the exact price before any work starts. Most repairs finish in that same visit, because the parts that actually fail on residential systems - capacitors, contactors, fan motors, thermostats, condensate pumps - are predictable enough to keep on the truck.
There is no dispatch fee ambush and no book price quoted over the phone for a system nobody has looked at. Typical repairs land between $150 and $650; where your problem falls in that range is knowable only after diagnosis, which is why diagnosis comes first.

What We Don’t Do
Honesty about scope saves everyone a phone call. This is residential system repair only: no window units (a new one usually costs less than a service visit), no automotive air conditioning (that is an auto shop’s trade), no commercial rooftop units. If your problem is outside our lane, the person answering will say so plainly rather than book a visit that wastes your afternoon.
The Standards That Apply
Refrigerant work on your system is federally regulated - EPA Section 608 governs who may open a refrigerant circuit and how refrigerant must be recovered. Virginia licenses HVAC tradesmen through the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, and any Virginia license can be verified in DPOR’s public lookup. Those rules are the floor a legitimate repair stands on, and they are why “we’ll just top it off every summer” is a sign to call someone else.
